Bulk Boxes:

Bulk boxes are oversized boxes that are constructed to support tremendous payloads, typically from 1,000 to 2,500 pounds depending on construction. Bulk boxes have other commonly used names such as:

  • Gaylord boxes
  • Pallet Boxes
  • Combo bins
  • Gaylord pallet boxes
  • Produce bins
  • Watermelon bins
  • Jumbo boxes
  • Triwalls

Bulk boxes come in two shapes, rectangular and octagon. The rectangular bulk box has four walls and the octagon has eight. The octagon bulk box locks together with a die cut bottom and when filled forms an almost round shape. Many feel that the octagon is superior in design due to the fact that the weight is more evenly distributed. Bulk boxes are available in single wall, double wall, and triple wall. Board grade ranges from 200# C up to and including 1300# triple wall. Bulk boxes can be reinforced with external straps or internal sesame tape. Furthermore, double wall or triple wall can be laminated together to enhance performance and provide superior stacking and rigidity strength.

For the meat, fish, poultry and agricultural markets Skyline Container can provide bulk boxes with wax curtain coating, wax impregnation, wax cascading and moisture resistant adhesive.
